Las Vegas, Nevada

Sign Regulations

For the City of Las Vegas, Duncan Associates reviewed and revised the City's sign regulations. Preparation of the new code was carried out through a series of eight tasks with direction from local stakeholders, the public, City staff, Planning Commission and City Council. At the outset of the code update assignment, the City set forth 66 specific objectives. The objectives were then separated into three basic categories: technical amendments (those requiring a clarification of existing code provisions and unlikely to adversely affect a significant number of existing signs);

legal/technical issues (those requiring a review against common industry practices, common practices among other local governments or evolving sign law); and policy issues (those requiring definitive resolution by the City Council).
