RJ Eldridge has been with Duncan Associates for approximately two years and has recently relocated from our Austin headquarters to the Washington, D.C. area. RJ is a Maryland native so this is a homecoming for him. This presence in the Mid-Atlantic region will allow us better serve our east coast clients. RJ has a demonstrated ability to manage projects that vary in both scope and magnitude. He has experience working with complex project teams for clients of varying levels of technical sophistication. His talent is for working with clients on their level. Past clients include the cities of Savannah, GA, Sarasota, FL, and the Durham, NC City/County Planning Commission. Prior to entering the planning profession, RJ spent many years working in the civil engineering field. RJ has a broad range of experiences in the planning field. He has collaborated with cities to develop comprehensive plans, land use plans, and infrastructure master plans; and has worked with communities through the zoning and subdivision code development process. He has facilitated public workshops focusing on cultural and environmental protection. He has extensive experience using GIS, AutoCad, and other programs for both data analysis and mapping. His planning experiences outside of work include serving as a Guest Instructor for the Texas Leadership Institute. As a student, he received the Texas APA Student Award for a park plan for a low income community on the Texas-Mexico border. He is currently managing code update projects for Columbia, Tennessee; Petersburg, Virginia; and Brunswick County, North Carolina. Additionally, he is the principal liason with the Durham Planning Department for the creation of a new inter-jurisdictional UDO that will guide development in both the city and the county. RJ now lives with his wife, Jennifer in Cheverly, MD with their two cats and two dogs. In addition to being a competetive rower, he is an appointee of the Town's Planning Commission.
